The wedding of Farina and Max in Alsbach-Hähnlein was not only a beautiful, but also a super relaxed start to a two-day celebration. As a documentary wedding photographer, I was allowed to accompany the first day, their civil wedding ceremony – and the special atmosphere was just great!
Getting Ready: The groom prepares himself
The day began with Max – the groom – getting ready, rather than the bride as you may know from other weddings. So I was able to concentrate fully on accompanying Max in the final moments before the ceremony. The suit was adjusted down to the last detail, the tie was tied – the anticipation was clear to see! It’s often these little moments that later convey so much personality in the photos.

First Look: An emotional moment with a wedding photographer in Alsbach-Hähnlein
After getting ready came the first look – and what a first look it was! Farina and Max decided to see each other for the first time in front of their house in Alsbach-Hähnlein. The moment was full of emotion: Max couldn’t take his eyes off his bride, and Farina was beaming with happiness. Photographing these moments are always a highlight for me, because they reflect exactly what a wedding day is all about: real emotions.

Civil wedding ceremony: getting married in the “Alte Bürgermeisterei”
The civil ceremony took place in the charming little “Alte Bürgermeisterei”, which was just a few hundred meters from the couple’s home – super convenient! Together with their closest friends and family, Farina and Max set off on foot.
It then became official at the registry office: the two sealed their marriage with a loving “I do” and a kiss. The ceremony was short, but very emotional – just as Farina and Max had wished.

Champagne reception and congratulations with the bridal couple
After the wedding ceremony, the couple were greeted by their guests in front of the “Alte Bürgermeisterei” and the atmosphere was simply exuberant. There were congratulations, tears of joy and, of course, a champagne reception with little treats. Meanwhile, I took the opportunity to capture the heartfelt moments between the bride and groom and their guests.

A successful start with a wedding photographer in Alsbach-Hähnlein
The first day of Farina and Max’s wedding in Alsbach-Hähnlein was the perfect start to an unforgettable weekend. The intimate and personal atmosphere of the civil ceremony set the tone for the next day.
And what happened the next day? I’ll show you in the next blog post with the highlights of the second day with the church wedding in Darmstadt and the celebration at “Alte Kaserne” in Münster near Dieburg.
